Hello, my name is Neil Keenan, President of SSHT - a fully insured and family owned business located in the Northwest Suburban area of Chicago.
I'm a certified Illinois State/NRA/USCCA Instructor and Range Safety Officer with multiple teaching disciplines, including: Basic/Advanced Pistol; Personal Protection Inside & Outside the Home; Concealed Carry Experience and Home Defense Fundementals. I am also CPR, Trauma, and Emergency First Aid Certified. I am an active member of the NRA and USCCA. As well as providing instruction through my company, I am an Instructor at Fox Valley Shooting Range in Elgin, Il., and host and co-host classes onsite.

My personal training has been through Safe Shot Firearm Academy, Top Shot Academy, The Academy of Tactical Training and Security, USCCA & NRA. 

Years ago when my father-in-law John took my wife Sandy and I to the range and taught us both to shoot, it sparked a passion within me that continues to this day, driving me to learn, apply, and teach to others.

Specializing in handguns, the foundation of our training relies on a total commitment to firearm safety, while emphasizing a firm understanding of the skills necessary to become a safe, responsible, and proficient shooter.

I am a strong believer in "Progressive Training", and help design both short-term and long-term training plans for students new to shooting handguns, and for students interested in self defense with a handgun & personal protection of self and family.

Classes are designed to insure students remain fully engaged with the instructor, with an emphasis on TPI (Total Participant Involvement). A blended approach of instruction, demonstration, and hands on training provides students with a well rounded and interesting way to learn and progress at a comfortable pace while learing the Fundementals of Pistol Markmanship, as well as more advanced defensive theory, tactics, and application.

We offer Basic and Advanced Pistol courses, Private Range sessions, Personal Protection In & Out of Home, and Concealed Carry Experience and Home Defense Fundementals courses. Please inquire about full Conceal Carry and Defensive Handgun Classes.
